Dear Parents/Guardians,

First, let me thank you for giving us at Willow Street United Church of Christ a great opportunity to be part of your child’s/children’s summer fun this year. We truly enjoyed our time with all the kids in Vacation Bible School and we definitely miss them all. Enclosed in this mail is a souvenir picture of your child taken during our exciting week at VBS.

Secondly, during the VBS closing program, I had the privilege of speaking with some parents and was certainly glad to know that they would be interested to have their children join the church’s Sunday program. Well, here it is!

“The Kid Connection” is a new children’s Sunday program and will run on themes such as: Connecting to Christ, Connecting With Others, Connecting in Faith, and Celebrating My Connections. Just like in this year’s VBS, children will be in a mixed-age group. We have found that mixed-age groups actually foster cooperation rather than competition among children where older kids tend to be more helpful to the younger ones. “The Kid Connection” is girded to nurtuing our children’s faith in Jesus, helping them develop healthy and loving relationships with others and developing in them a good sense of self-image that comes from knowing God made them unique and special.

“The Kid Connection” starts Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. simultaneously with the Adult Worship Service. We will be very happy to see you. May God bless us all.
